Vogueboy hit it right on target..L'Oreal's Decrease is a great eye primer! and it's inexpensive. Just had to mention that, but I guess you want a face primer?? I just discovered a fave.......Laura Mercier's! And I tried Smashbox's Photo Finish...it is GREAT! But you should really get a face primer to help your make up go on more smoothly. Your skin will look so much more even. An eye primer will help shadow/liner stay on longer too, if you have that prob and the colours look more vibrant.

I'm using Smashbox's photo finish and, to be perfectly honest, I find it greasy and clumpy. Sure, it does work, but for the price? No, certainly not. Value is what matters at the end of the day ...
Laura Gellar's Spackle is pretty good and pretty inexpensive; cools the skin too. |

The best thing I've ever found to prevent make up from running is milk of magnesia. You know, Malox or Phillip's; although the store brand works just as well. I found this idea in a homeopathic website, unfortunatly I don't have a link to it anymore. Plus it's really good for you skin.
Just shake the bottle real good, get a cotton ball wet, rub it on your face, and let it dry. Your make up will stay in place till you wash it off. |

Great tip thanks, I will remember that next time I run out of primer.

I second the M of M idea. I'm using it daily on my T-zone after moisturizer, but before any other product. It really cuts down on oil and I blot considerably less throughout the day.
I also use Clarins Instant Smooth or DHC's Velvet Skin after the MoM to smooth out my skin. It does help foundation glide on as it fills in the gaps of your skin. M of M to me is not really a primer as much as it only helps to mattify your skin. |

I dont use one often,but I like smashbox,they have the photo P. W/spf.
If oil is the prob. try a mattifying product,Like V.B. said primers are to smooth out the canvas, like gesso before you paint! Has anyone tried the new bare escentuals "prime time"??? |
