Wink Makeup primers?

I'm interested in buying a makeup primer but I'm not sure if they're really necessary.

It seems only the more expensive brands have them, Maybelline, Revlon, Covergirl, Rimmel etc don't sell them and they are my fave brands.

I wonder if an oil control moisturiser would do the trick, after all, a primer's main function is to block the oil production..

A Primers function is to improve the skin's texture by creating a smooth velvety finish so that your foundation will glide on easier and will last longer.

An oil-control moisturizer won't work because it will be absorbed by the skin like any other moisturizer. A primer sits on top of the skin and most are oil-free and all of them are silicone based that's why they work so well.

And like you've figured out already, the high end lines carry them.

Good Luck,

Also last night I came upon Red Earths Primers they come in different formulas and colors, anything from Matte to color to disguise certain facial areas that have problems.

If you really wanted to splurge, you could try the one by Kevyn Aucoin (one of the greatest make-up artists ever!)I have never used it, but I'm sure it works magically because he truly is a genius! http://www.kevynaucoin.com
