Default Common skin problems

Here are one or two tips on how to obtain and maintain healthy skin!! I've found them pretty helpful
Rose
Also, sorry for any spelling mistakes, I typed this out pretty quickly!

Large Pores:
Why? Pores are the openings foroil-producing sebaceous glands on your face. Genetics determine their size, but pores can be enlargedas a result of sun damage or trapped oil and dirt. Despite what some cosmetic brands promise, they cannot be permanently shrunk.

Treat: Daily cleansing and toning are a definate must to improve the appearence of large pores. Unclogged pores are less likely to dilate, so they instantly become less obvious. When it comes to moisturising, avoid applying greasy products over the T-zone, as there is already enough moisture in this area. Try to use a deep-cleansing mud mask to soak up and sebum that may keep your pores open.

Cover up: As tempting as it is to slather on a thick layer of foundation, it will only make matters worse. Instead, pat on a light mattifying primer to prevent make-up collecting in your pores and then apply an oil-free foundation. Carry blotting papers with you and use them to mop up any shine throughout the day

Broken Capillaries:
Why?The little red spots just under the skins surface appear when tiny blood capillaries have been stretched so much that they have become permanently dilated or broken. Some people are more prone to these imprfections, which can be caused by the sun, age, alcohol consumption, a bad diet or simply being too harsh with your skin. They are more commonly found aroun the chek and nose area.

Treat: Choosing a good moisturiser is key when dealing with broken capillaries. Go for a sun protecting formula (spf 15 or above) with anti-oxidants to protect and nourish your skin. Avoid harsh facial scrubs, and use a foaming wash containing AHA's (alpha hydroxy acids) to remove dead skin. Be gentle when touching your face- tough treatment will encourage more blemishes.

Cover up: Invest in a concealer with a yellow-tinged base. It will cover upbroken capillaries easily by deflecting rednessBuild up in layers using a small concealer brush. Stay clear of pink or red-toned blushers as they can accentuate redness on your face.

Default And some more.....

Here's a few more..

Milk Spots (milia)
Why? Milia are the tiny white bumps that occur under the skins surface. They are caused when follicles get blocked with sebum but remain trapped under the top layer of skin. Milia cause the most problems under the eye ares, as the delicate nature of the skin means pressure cannot be used to extract them. Caused by oily eye make-up or too much eye cream, these tiny bumps can detract from an otherwise flawless complexion.

Treat: Opt for oil-free make-up remover and make sure that you rinse off any residue with luke-warm water. If you use a rich eye cream, switch it for a lighter gel formula.

Cover up: Less is more when it comes to diguising milk spots. Using a heavy foundation/concealer will not only highlight them, but possibly encourage more to form. Keep the under eye area looking as fresh as possible, and dab on a small amount of a light reflecting concealer.

Sun Spots:
Why? Flat, brown and bigger than freckles, sunspots are caused by years of sun exposure. They start off very pale, but eventully get darker if nothing is done to protect your skin. It is very important to keep an eye on these areas and inform your doctor if any changes or irritations occur, because this culd be a sign of melanoma (a form of skin cancer).

Treat: Prevention is better than cure, so keep you skin protected, only 20% of skin damage is a result of holidays. Look for spf products with a UVA and UVB rating of fourstars at least. If the damage is already done, whitening creams improve the mottled appearance. Alternatively, minor damage can be tackled with an AHA cream that boosts skin renewal to produce fresh, plump new skin.

Cover up: As sunspots are not raised, they are relatively easy to disguise with make-up. Apply a foundation with good coverage, use a concealer if necessary, and set with a dusting of translucent powder.

I hope you find this information helpful please post if there are any tips you know about skin problems I haven't covered here (and ones I have covered, if theres anything I've missed)

Well, since this topic is on common skin problems, thought I can share a very common type of skin problem - dry skin!

For those suffering from dry skin, you have to know that dry skin has no permanent cure but the skin can be softened and made smoother by using a few remedies.

Most popularly, lotions and creams are used to soothe the dry skin. Using a mild soap or a cleansing body wash might eliminate the problem temporarily.

However, this option can turn out to be pretty expensive if the skin is genetically dry or just exceptionally dry. Certain remedies can be used to soften the dry skin right at home.

But the most effective way is to find suitable dry skin products that can eliminate or control the presence of dry skin. Remember, dry skin not treated can result in wrinkled skin, and dun let that happen to you.
