There are many products in the market place but to be honest the only thing that I have heard that does a good job is only available through prescreption.
Have you seen your doctor and talked about this, I am sure they can help you find a product to help with the itch and scarring. Let me Know.

You can try applying a THIN layer of Cortaid on the areas and then slathering on a good moisture laden lotion. Eucerin has great products and are safe enough for even a baby.
My 10 month old granddaughter had a small patch of it on her upper leg and the pediatrician told us to do this and within 24 hours it had almost gone away. The reason behind a thin layer, are steroids can thin out your skin very easily. Also, eczema is a bit like psoriasis and you need to get some UV rays. Try sitting out in the sun with the spots exposed for at least 10-20 minutes a day. I once had psoriasis on my eyelids and couldn't even open my eyes. Plus, couldn't put steroids on my eyelids. Took steroids orally and had to sit in the sun every day. Stress is a big factor in both illnesses, try to de-stress yourself and do something fun! |

I don't know if you can get rid of it, but you can control it. There's a lot of things to consider. Food, environment, soap, stress, dyes, fragrances, etc... can affect your skin if you have eczema.
Cetaphil and Aveeno are really great for eczema. Using moisturizer everyday, taking a flaxseed supplement, and a daily multi-vitamin will help too. As for scar removal, you would have to see a dermatologist.

Aveno is quite good to stop itching. You might try looking at the dry skin web site and see if there is any advice there for you too.

As a fellow sufferer, I can honestly say see your doctor. If you have severe eczema, only a 'script from the doc will do any real good. The over the counter stuff will work for a very short time, but make things worse in the long run. I know from experience. If it is very mild you make be able to get away with a good skin product, but not the cheap stuff-and their no promise it will really help. As for the scars, again your doc. Some OTC's will aggrivate our condition. Newer treatments can be used under regular skin creams after yoiu wash your face, which is great.
As for the itching, try wiping with a water/vinegar mix. You'll have to play with it to find the ratio that will work best for you. I find and 50/50 ratio works for me, but every one's different. It will sting the 1st few times, but if it still stings after 2 days of application, use more water to dilute it. If you are worried about the odor, 'cause it does smell, apply then wait 30-60 mins before you are around other people. Oh, only use white vinegar not the apple cider kind, the apple cider stuff has sugars that will irritate your skin. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but I had to be honest.

Ask your doc about a cream called Topicort. I had a rather large patch of excema just recently on my leg and this stuff completely healed it in three days.
