Arrow Microdermabrasion is that helpful with my skin problem?

I thought I am not looking as young as I looked some months back; I discussed about this problem with one of my friend. He advised me to go for microdermabrasion procedure. But I have many questions regarding microdermabrasion procedure. I found there are many treatments for the skin problem. Microdermabrasion is that helpful with my skin problem? I m hoping you can help me?

Yes it is helpful and the nice part is you can get a really good kit and do it at home. My suggestion is the Neostrata line it is one of the best I have found.
It will help fine lines, dull skin and give a nice healthy glow, use with a good skin cream and eye cream and your on your way.
But also make sure, you drink lots of water, Omega 3,6.9 is good for the skin, good diet and exercise and lots of sunscreen. A girls best friend.

You may want to look into Microdermx. It seems to have the best reviews online. I began using it after it was recommended by a friend whose skin is now really glowing and beautiful. I thought she has some plastic surgery done. I Love it!

DermaNew has a great home microdermabrasion kit. It's called the Total Body Experience System.

Smile Know the Pros & Cons of Microdermabrasion Treatment

Microdermabrasion, an anti-aging skin treatment, is gaining popularity for its ease of operation and the benefits that it offers. There are many benefits of microdermabrasion. Its procedure has the potential to meet a variety of your cosmetic objectives like the improvement of fine lines, wrinkles, hyper pigmentation, acne, scars and stretch marks.
It is also known as "sand blasting." The process uses a high-pressure stream of aluminum oxide crystals to superficially peel the upper layer of the skin.
Most procedures of microdermabrasion use units which are closed-loop negative pressure systems that pass aluminum oxide crystals into the skin using negative vacuum pressure. Some procedures use magnesium oxide and sodium bicarbonate crystals while others use sodium chloride crystals and positive pressure for microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion treatment of acne scars requires more intense and aggressive treatment with more passes and more rounds of microdermabrasion treatment to get the best results. Similarly raised or deeply pitted skin areas (possibly from old severe acne scars) and darker pigmented areas require multiple treatments.

There is some Limitations of Microdermabrasion Procedure like it cannot be advised for those who have heavily damaged skin for which a more aggressive approach like a laser or a deep chemical peel needs to be tried.
Microdermabrasion is not able to remove tattoos, neither it is able to remove acne scars which are very deep down the skin. Similarly undiagnosed lesions, recent herpes outbreaks, warts, active, weeping acne (stages 3 to 4) and active rosacea are the skin disorders that cannot be treated with microdermabrasion.
Lastly microdermabrasion procedure is not suitable for patients who have had any type of facial rejuvenation procedure or treatment such as Botox injections, collagen implants, or chemical peels within the past 3-6 months.

Does it work to rid scarring, not just the discolouration but the bumpiness and uneven texture on the face?

Here is a reality check

Quote:
Microdermabrasion exfoliates skin faster and more efficiently than any salon facial or products used at home, and penetrates the skin more deeply than a

glycolic acidpeel. But it is still a superficial approach to skin resurfacing and, according to Michael S. Bumagin, M.D., a Fort Worth plastic surgeon, has to be repeated periodically. It won't help prominentacnescars, including "icepick" scars, other deep facial indentations, severe wrinkles around the mouth or furrows in the forehead; even fine wrinkles and scars may not disappear completely. "Nor is microdermabrasion indicated to erase crow's feet," cautions Dr. Bumagin, "because the crystals can cause eye irritation if blasted too close to the eyes and delicate eyelid skin can be damaged by the machine's suction."

The at home microdermabrasion kits can be helpful for minor skin afflictions. I v'e had good success using Neutrogena Microdermabrasion. The lines around my eyes look less noticeable and some of my acne scars have faded. I still have scars that weren't helped though. Also I take 60mg of Co Q 10 everyday and drink a table spoon of Flax seed or Hemp seed oil everyday. My skin is looking better
