so much is advertised as overnight miracles but even if they work for one or two pimples it isn't going to work on a whole face. i would go to a derm or even a doctor to see why the break out. could be hormones, could be diet. a derm could probably tell before a family doctor but family doctors have seen everything so maybe yours is smart in this type of problem. inoo has the best advise.

Breakouts along the chin/jaw area are typically hormonal; talk to your doctor about acne medications that can help solve this. Acne on your forehead/nose is usually bacterial, which means you can usually prevent them by keeping your face clean. I live by the Mary Kay Timewise cleansing and moisturizing system- they have formulas for dry, oily, and combo skin. I would only recommend that if you're in your 20's or older, though. They also have a skincare system specifically for teens which addresses hormonal issues and more excessive oil production. It's called velocity.

Acne cleanser must have salicylic acid for it helps exfoliate the skin.

ditto the salycilic acid- that's essential. Also ingredients like Kaolin, Tea Tree and Witch Hazel are all very good for acne

Heating your face so that your pores open up before a cleanse is good. Using a benzoyl peroxide wash(you can even buy drugstore brands, depending on how bad it is) prevents acne.

Going to bed early & getting plenty of sleep repairs the skin (: which is really good.

Moisturizing your skins so that your face doesn't feel like it needs excess oil. Try to avoid oil-bases products, unless it's all natural like Egyptian Magic Cream(this uses olive oil, which is good!).

Tea tree will help but, changing you diet will help too, try to avoid fatty fried foods, if you can do it you will see a really big difference in your skin in about 3 weeks.
