Default dry skin

Hi Peeps
I moisturize my skin twice a day, have been for past 10 years but around my nose and couple of small spots on my cheeks are always dry,i was wondering what is causing this? is it because i was one of those women that went sun crazy, lol years ago and got sun damage? i was thinking i need skin resurfacing or microdermabrasion.Or maybe some kind of face peel, any suggestions would help........glycolic peels are available on e bay for cheap, should i attemp one of those myself or seek professional help?..........any help would be grat.......thankx

Hi!

If I were you, I would check the composition of cream which you use..
Sometimes they include mineral oils, liquid paraffins ect which make your skin dry instead of nourished - there are not healthy for skin!!

Secondly, drink a lot of water- everyday ( min 2 litres) green tea is recommended as well.

Don' t drink coffee, alcohol - it's make your skin dry..

Peels - don't work..

the diet!!!!!

Also you may want to see a Derm, when skin stays dry in one area for several years it may have a underlying cause.

Agree with Judi - I'd suggest a visit to a cosmetic dermatologist. If nothing else he/she can probably recommend a better moisturizing regimen.

I agree with everyone else. I'd see a dermatologist to make sure the patches aren't a medical problem before I would try a home peel or microdermabrasion.

I dont know what kind of moisturizer you use.....but try neutrogena or dove..they are gentle but very effective with dry skin. stay away from anything that says "Cream" because for some skin it may cause break outs from the cream being too oily.

Another possibility could be sulfates. Check to see if maybe they are in your cleanser. They can be very drying and stripping to the skin, particularly if used for prolonged periods. Just a thought. Good Luck!
